How to play BitReach

1. Choose the range and direction

Select 0–31 for one-hand five-bit practice, 0–255 for eight active bits, or 0–1023 for all ten bits. Mixed mode alternates Build and Read questions. Build mode keeps every question in the number-to-hands direction, while Read mode keeps every question in the hands-to-number direction. The optional timer provides 75 seconds for up to eight questions; untimed mode never ends because of the clock.

2. Build a number with weighted fingers

A Build question shows a decimal target, its fixed-width binary form, and every available finger weight. Select the fingers whose weights add to the target. Raised fingers turn lime and report a pressed state to assistive technology. The live decimal sum and binary row update before submission. Touch or click a finger, or focus the practice board and use number keys 1 through 0. The shortcut labels follow the ten visual positions from left to right. Press Enter or select Check answer when ready.

3. Read a displayed gesture

A Read question locks the fingers into the target pattern. Add the weights of the raised positions and enter the resulting whole number in the labelled decimal field. The accepted range matches the chosen level. Press Enter or use Check answer. The game does not inspect a physical hand and never requests camera permission.

4. Use the bit-by-bit explanation

After submission, the answer is locked and each active bit receives its own status. “Raise” means that weight was required but absent. “Lower” means the answer included a weight the target did not need. Correct bits show their expected zero or one state. Review the target sum and binary row, then choose Next question. The local adaptive counter emphasizes frequently missed weights in later generated questions.

5. Finish and replay

After eight questions, or when a timed run expires, the result screen reports correct answers and any highest-priority review bits. Replay this setup starts another generated session. Change setup returns to the range, direction, and timer choices. Aggregate progress is stored only in this browser and play continues if storage is unavailable.
